Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly talented and experienced Transportation Decarbonization Project Manager to support the transportation decarbonization portfolio of projects and programs within our Energy Practice. The role will include serving as a technical subject matter expert, supporting business development efforts, and managing projects and technical transportation decarbonization tasks within relevant programs. Relevant technical areas include an understanding of the transportation decarbonization market, regulatory structures, policy mechanisms, EV charging infrastructure, fleet transition, strategic planning, and impact of electrification the grid and energy systems.

AECOM’s clients in this area include private and public utilities; units of government at the local, regional, state, and federal levels; public and private fleet owners and operators, original equipment manufacturers, charging/fueling providers, and other large public and private customers.

We are seeking an individual with:

  • Experience in transportation decarbonization

  • Experience in project management and technical advisory

  • Experience with client engagement

  • Experience in developing project budgets and schedules

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills

  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate complex processes or ideas

  • Proven ability to collaborate with a strategic interdisciplinary team

The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Manage transportation decarbonization projects/tasks

  • Support business development effort and proposals

  • Identify and develop technical solutions

  • Develop strategic transportation decarbonization plans, including fleet transition

  • Build collaborative solutions for clients across AECOM business lines

  • Help recruit and build a team of professionals to support the growth strategy

  • Proven ability to support Energy projects and programs during execution and implementation

DCS—Energy

AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. Our understanding of the big picture – and the interconnection between generation, distribution, storage, and the demand side of the meter – allows us to deliver holistic strategies that improve and modernize next generation energy infrastructure. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Construction, Science, or closely related field with 6 years of relevant experience within the Energy industry or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 years of relevant experience within the Energy industry or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Proven expertise in business development and market strategy development/execution

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills

  • Understanding of financing mechanisms for transportation decarbonization

  • Understanding of EV adoption modeling

  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate complex processes or ideas

  • Proven ability to collaborate with a strategic interdisciplinary team of business development and project professionals.

  • Demonstrated relationships with private and public utilities; units of government at the local, regional, state, and federal levels; public and private fleet owners and operators, original equipment manufacturers, charging/fueling providers, and/or other large public and private customers

  • Knowledge of the financial, technical, regulatory, and policy aspects driving the Transportation Decarbonization transition.

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Sciences, Energy/Sustainability, Business, Policy/Public Administration, or a related field

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $116,105.60 - $1165,422.40. Please note that this role can be based anywhere in the United States/Canada and compensation data will vary in each location, including higher or lower than the stated range.
