Job Description

Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Supervisor

AECOM offers a comprehensive suite of subsurface utility engineering (SUE), private utility locating and services to its diverse customer base composed of Engineering, Environmental, Utility, Surveying, and other Construction, and Infrastructure.

• Utilize advanced geophysical equipment, observational skills, and deductive reasoning to identify, designate and locate (vacuum excavation) utilities within a requested job scope in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22.

• Identify potential customers and set strategies to align customers with our recommendations.

• Manage the locate schedule with the CSR team.

• Ideal candidates will possess troubleshooting skills and be willing and able to learn new procedures and technologies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• BS Degree in Engineering or related field 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• SUE and/or private locating experience with a demonstrated commitment to quality and attention to detail

• Experience and understanding of SUE practices and procedures in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22

• Valid Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience reading CAD, GIS, and MicroStation files

• Experience processing survey data into CAD and MicroStation files

• Supervisory experience of SUE crews

• Ability to manage multiple SUE crews

• Detailed-oriented and ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude

• Ability to work independently with little direct supervision

• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

• Ability to travel out of town and work overtime

• Ability to walk long distances of several miles daily

• Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs

• Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $83,000.
