**Job Description**

**AECOM** has an exciting leadership opportunity for a Renewable Energy Environmental Program Lead for the _West Region of the United States (33 states west of the Mississippi_ ). This is a senior position within the Companys Environmental business line, working in partnership with our deep bench of permitting professionals as well as our Energy business line. We are seeking a program leader to oversee our growing book of renewable energy business and drive growth with renewable energy developers, utilities, and other large public and private customers. This position may be based anywhere in the United States (ideally West/Midwest regions).

The candidate will be responsible for: 1) strengthening cohesion of our renewable energy environmental team in the western U.S.; 2) expanding AECOMs presence in the renewables market through maximizing existing MSA contracts and expanding clients and projects throughout the Western US; and, 3) serve as principal/program manager for large-scale renewable projects. This position will refine and drive the growth strategy for AECOMs renewables environmental practice (solar, wind, storage, and new energy sources such as hydrogen). Success in this position requires a dynamic, highly motivated individual with existing client relationships across multiple renewable energy developers/providers.

Work will include interaction with senior project managers and task leaders, clients, AECOMs engineering and design teams, and representatives from cities, counties, and local, regional, state, and federal agencies. Success requires a passion for developing renewable energy solutions, ability to enhance/establish tools and processes for practitioners to efficiently function under multiple MSAs, and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of technical, business development (BD) and operations professionals (subconsultants and AECOM staff).

**Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:**

Manage senior-level relationships internally and externally, maintaining a sharp focus on client satisfaction throughout project/program lifecycle.

Provide technical oversight and QA/QC for environmental planning and permitting documents (per NEPA, CEQA, or other similar state agency)

Lead multi-disciplinary teams to respond to project RFPs for renewable energy projects; develop and negotiate scope/fee.

Organize AECOMs West region renewables team around clients and markets.

Develop and negotiate MSAs.

Develop and implement multi-year renewable energy growth strategy. Refinement of strategic planning and BD tools and processes is expected over time.

Recruit and build a team of delivery/management professionals to support renewable energy growth.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Requirements**

Bachelors degree in environmental planning/policy, Environmental Science, or related field

Minimum 8 years of years of experience in successfully coordinating and managing environmental document preparation and technical studies for renewable projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Valid U.S Driver's license is required.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Masters degree in environmental planning/policy, Environmental Science, or related field

15 years of experience in successfully coordinating and managing technical studies (siting, due diligence, permitting, and construction compliance) document preparation for renewable projects.

Understanding of regulatory permitting landscape, including permitting through the Bureau of Land Management, US Army Corps of Engineers, Regional Water Quality Control Boards, US Fish and Wildlife Service, State Historic Preservation Office, and state-specific Departments of Fish and Wildlife.

Proven track record of successful marketing of winning work and building client relationships in renewable sector.

Understanding of regulatory permitting environment for renewables projects

Experience in providing strategic advice to clients on CEQA and NEPA review process and permitting requirements.

Demonstrated experience in addressing other state and federal environmental regulations, consultation requirements, and Executive Orders.

Exceptional detail orientation and attention to quality.

Ability to work independently and demonstrate a high level of competence and experience in working with teams, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory personnel.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to effectively manage programs and interact with teams of staff, subconsultants, and clients.

Experience in marketing and business development efforts in pursuit of new projects.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $130,000.00 - $170,000.00.
