The Los Angeles office of AECOM is looking for an Interior Designer Intern to join our team for the '24 Summer season.

We design world-class interiors that put people first. Our studio works on a variety of project types in Los Angeles and across the globe, including innovative workplaces, education, sports, federal, and lab projects. This internship opportunity offers hands-on experience in various aspects of interior design, providing exposure to real-world projects and professional development opportunities.

Working with us, you will:

  • Collaborate as a valued member of the interior project team.

  • Engage in hands-on learning and teamwork with designers, architects, directors, and managers to participate in planning, designing, and developing projects. Gain practical experience working with clients across various industries and locations.

  • Partner with the design team to explore a wide array of professional skills, encompassing the design process, conceptualization, presentation, and execution.

  • Activities may include design presentations, trend research, drafting, construction documentation, field audits, material research, and finish & furniture specification.

  • Focus on learning and development, including learning opportunities with other disciplines and attend industry events to expand knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design; CIDA-accredited program preferred.

  • Third year of undergraduate studies or first year of graduate studies (and will be returning to your program after completing an internship).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up and Enscape.

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam.

  • A basic understanding and exposure to Interior Design concepts such as space planning, furniture, fixtures, and product research.

  • Experience with industry software including (but not limited to) Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Eagerness to take on new challenges and contribute to the success of projects.

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is preferred.

  • Available to work on a hybrid schedule in the Los Angeles office a minimum of 3 days a week.

  • This is a 3-month summer internship position.

  • The anticipated compensation rate for this full-time position is $23 - $27 and is based on individual education, qualifications, and experience.
