Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Civil Engineer to be based in Virginia Beach, VA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FE/EIT is highly desirable.

  • Relevant internship or professional work experience in support of transportation design.

  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software.

  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage time effectively.

  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks daily.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Familiarity with CADD software such as MicroStation.

  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License preferred to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices when public transportation is not available. Selected candidate will undergo a Motor Vehicle Records review.

  • Relocation is not available for this position.

  • Offered rate of compensation (Virginia locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $55,029.50 - $75,665.57.
