Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Senior Manager for our Sullivan County, NY office location for an upcoming project to begin around September of this year. This is contingent upon contract award.

This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities -

  • Support the Executive Construction Manager

  • Supervise all design and construction activities associated with the installation of a buried High Voltage transmission line as well as the supporting civil infrastructure.

  • Manage Land and Submarine Cable engineering and contractor installation.

  • Collaborate with the construction contractor activity to develop an efficient and cost-effective plan to implement the work, within the scheduled timeline and budget.

  • Promote an environment that promotes project safety protocols particularly as it relates to contractor work activities.

  • Monitor adherence to approved plans, specifications, and appropriate governing code.

  • Interface with the construction contractor’s work force, primarily with management but also foremen and field supers, as appropriate to implement the work.

  • When necessary, point out conditions that may lead to unsatisfactory work.

  • Identify deficient contractor work, monitor, and verify that the Contractor effectively corrects deficient work. Record and drive to resolution corrective actions

  • Monitor Contractor compliance with the Contractor's Safety and Health Plan and with specific Safe Work Plans. Record and drive to resolution corrective actions

  • Monitor and ensure Contractor's compliance with the approved Contractor's Quality Plan in coordination with Quality specialists on-site including Contractor's and stakeholder representatives.

  • Documenting construction activity related to the progress of the work and any issues that may arise.

  • Make a thorough record of the work observed by completing and submitting a Daily and Monthly Project Construction Report.

  • Leverage digital tools to complete work.

  • Assist in developing cost estimate, design program, work scope, resource planning & schedule, reporting and forecasting.

  • Mentoring, developing, and training of junior staff.

  • Complete other duties as assigned/required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or closely related field preferred 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Candidates with electrical training and significant years of experience will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering License

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

  • At least 10 years of experience working on construction projects in construction management, 4 years of which in a leadership role.

  • OSHA 30-hour safety course certification preferred, or ability to obtain within six months.

  • Experience with the installation of high voltage buried electrical transmission line.

  • Knowledge of load flow and fault current analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence and project success.

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The starting salary range for this position is:.$133,500k - $225k
