Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Engineer II to join our Tennessee Water Group. A career at AECOM will provide a great opportunity to work in a multi-discipline engineering firm and one of the world’s leading firms.

Our teams focus on providing the best services and highest quality of work to our clients and want to make you part of our team. The organization is looking to grow our Water Business Line and as a result are seeking qualified individuals for this role.

The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered
  • Identifies discrepancies in results
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
  • Prepares project reports including engineering calculations, research, planning and technical engineering reports
  • Assists with various project management tasks
  • Works collaboratively in a dynamic team environment

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering 
  • 3 years of related experience in water, wastewater and/or stormwater design
  • Experience with CERCLA and RCRA remediation programs at complex sites
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, Bluebeam)
  • Experience with construction documentation, construction management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Ability to obtain Professional Engineering License (PE) within 3 years
