Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Environmental Engineer I to be based in our Long Beach, California office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.
This position is expected to begin in August 2024.
The Environmental Engineer I will support our Remediation team in both the field and office. We are seeking motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career. The successful candidate will have a background in Environmental Engineering. Knowledge of environmental investigations and remediation is preferred.
Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

• Builds analytic and design skills.
• Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
• As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidate must be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
• Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects.
• Positive attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
• Field work may be required including oversight of subcontractors.
• Candidate must be proficient with basic computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams).
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.

Additional Information

• Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not available for this position.
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
• Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire.
• Travel of 75% to job sites is required for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $66,560.00 - $77,347.03.
