Overview

Rate:$22-$24/hour

The Intake Coordinator will provide knowledgeable, family-centered, customer friendly service to expedite access to the most appropriate mental health and substance abuse services within the Advocates’ spectrum of services. The Intake Coordinator will develop, implement and maintain a system for triaging requests for services, relationships with providers, and providing same day access to care.

Minimum Education Required

High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve a system for triaging all requests for service made to Advocates Community Counseling.
  • Respond to service inquiries with 24 hours, or Monday for those seeking services over the weekend.
  • Oversee and manage Same Day Access in the clinics in conjunction with Site Directors.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of managed care and health insurance systems; provide ACC team members with managed care information and resources to referral resources.
  • Provide information on treatment options and referral services for those seeking services.
  • Maintain and manage waitlist for all services in compliance with program protocols and performance specifications.
  • Assist with obtaining insurance pre-certification for all levels of treatment.
  • Provide screenings, completed intake paperwork and facilitate groups for those seeking services.
  • Maintain necessary documentation, statistics, and clinical records in accordance with program requirements.
  • Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff meetings.
  • Maintain a welcoming, trauma informed, culturally sensitive environment and treatment approach.
  • Demonstrate a proactive commitment to maintaining effective communication with staff and those seeking services to facilitate and promote effective working relationships and superior customer service.
  • Seek and create opportunities to collaborate across programs, internally and externally.
  • Liaison to other community providers and related agencies for marketing and relationship building purposes.
  • Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work or in human services or health care related field, or a minimum of 1 year of experience working within Mental Health or Substance Abuse.
  • Proven ability to multitask and meet established deadlines
  • Outstanding customer service skills and attention to detail.
  • Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to facilitate beneficial working relationships with internal and external sources.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Strong computer knowledge.
  • Ability to read and speak English.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the population.
  • Commitment to Advocates values and mission.
  • High energy level, ability to function in a team atmosphere as well as independently
  • Must adhere to all professional ethics.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and access to insured auto.
