Scientist - Nucleic Acid Analytical Development

Summary:

As part of the Analytical Research and Development (ARD) group in Biotherapeutics Pharmaceutical Sciences, we are seeking an enthusiastic, self-driven, and optimistic candidate specializing in oligonucleotide assay development. As such, the candidate should have an in-depth understanding and hands-on experience with the characterization of plasmid DNA and mRNA. Candidates should be comfortable working at the interface of analytical chemistry, and biochemistry, as well as interacting with cross-site research groups. Excellent written and communication skills, effective time management, an innovative spirit, and the ability and desire to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced, team-oriented environment are essential for the position.

Responsibilities:

• Develop quantitative methods for a wide range of oligonucleotides.
• Optimize enzymatic modification of DNA and RNA.
• Assay automation and implementation.

Qualifications:

• B.S. with a minimum of 5 years, M.S. with a minimum of 3 years, or Ph.D. with a minimum of 0 years of work experience
• In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with the characterization of plasmid DNA and mRNA.
• Specialization in handling and characterizing nucleic acids.
• Extensive hands-on experience with standard molecular biology techniques, such as gel electrophoresis, UV/Vis, and HPLC.
• Experience performing restriction digests and related enzymatic techniques.
• Familiarity with mRNA/DNA therapeutics is highly desired with respect to structural characterization approaches, challenges and gaps, and regulatory principles.
• Automation experience with liquid handlers.

Rate/Location:

• $41-$46/hr
• This is an onsite role in Chesterfield, MO
