Title: Early Childhood Assistant Teacher

Adventure Montessori is a licensed childcare center seeking an Assistant Teacherto support all classrooms! This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, energetic educator who is passionate about early childhood education. Our mission is to be a nurturing environment for young children trusted by parents. We accomplish this by focusing on the needs of our students through age-appropriate educational activities in a fun, loving, and safe setting.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 5:30pm

Compensation: $18 - $21 an hour, based on education and experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects functions of a class of children in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Treating each child with dignity and respect and interacting with each child every day
• Personally greeting all families and professionally providing them with daily information
• Implementing activities which will encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative and physical development
• Helping children learn to think creatively, to solve problems independently, to self-regulate their behavior, and to respect themselves and others

• Take direction, accept constructive criticism and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program
• Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Carrying out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs.
• Implementing lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development.

• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care for the children.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous experience working in childcare facility, preferred

• Warm, caring and fun personality
• Ability to pass all background checks and meet state requirements
