Job Summary:
Ensures that all designated and required supplies, equipment and or services are purchased in a timely manner consistent within hospital guidelines. Oversees materials management personnel and assigns tasks based on employee level. Purchases supplies, equipment and services, maximizing purchasing agreements as designated by corporate policy. Utilizes proactive and progressive purchasing techniques and methods. Provides technical leadership while performing escalated or complex duties. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Five years' technical experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Manages the purchasing, receiving, and storage of stock. Places orders for stock and non-stock items, meeting usage requirement deadlines. Places orders for capital equipment and non-medical supplies.
- Manages materials management software, maximizes use of the computerized order system, implements and recommends process improvements.
- Participates and hiring and orienting employees. Evaluates employees on performance.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
