Adventist Health is Hiring a Sr. Billing Associate (Clinic) Near The Dalles, OR

In the heart of The Dalles, Oregon, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge has served the Columbia River Gorge community since 1901. We are comprised of a 49-bed hospital, various medical offices, home health, a birthing center and a vast scope of services located throughout The Dalles and the surrounding areas. Job Summary:

Reviews and manages medical records accounts, and assists with the follow-up of aged insurance accounts. Performs insurance billing clerical work including review and verification of insurance accounts against program provisions (e.g., Medicare, Medi-Cal, Blue Cross, etc.) for billing and follow-up. Resolves routine patient billing inquiries and problems.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Two years' medical billing experience: Preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Creates accounts for the billing of fees for medical record requests and services requested. Regularly works with sensitive and confidential information, often involving the interpretation of policies and procedures to guide use.
  • Organizes interpretation reports. Checks own work and possibly the work of others.
  • Posts insurance payments and other charges.
  • Assists with insurance reimbursement follow-up.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
