Adventist Health is Hiring a Lead Surgical Supply Coordinator Near Portland, OR

Our full-service acute care medical center provides a full range of inpatient, outpatient, emergency and diagnostic services to communities on the city’s east side. Job Summary:

Oversees, manages, and controls the surgical supply system ensuring that it operates in a fiscally sound and efficient manner by managing surgical supplies and equipment from acquisition to disposition. Supervises department personnel and processes to ensure optimal standards of compliance and performance. Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact.

You will be successful in this role with the following skills and background:

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and project management software

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely 

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required 
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Three years’ experience working within a Clinic or Hospital system within the supply chain: Strongly Preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees, monitors, organizes, and controls supply inventory within the surgical department including ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of all supplies used in the surgical department. Assures that all surgical instrumentation and equipment is kept in good repair and adequate surgery inventory is maintained in a cost effective manner.
  • Oversees and monitors periodic physical inventories and cycle counting. Reviews and analyzes surgery inventory and tracking system reports to ensure optimal cost effective and accurate account of supplies.
  • Reviews and presents on statistical reports as requested. Analyzes usage to identify areas of needed improvement. Proposes and supports process improvement solutions to optimize inventory, system and effective cost objectives.
  • Acts as a resource regarding special supply requests. Participates in the planning and implementing of new procedures, policies and systems. Collaborates and communicates with providers, facilities, vendors and members of department.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
