Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Three years' experience in a healthcare setting: Preferred
• Cancer patient experience: Preferred

Essential Functions:

• Maintains and promotes a calendar of events for cancer services. Coordinates patient orientations, healing programs, survivorship classes, community events and outreach activities in collaboration with the cancer services director and clinical staff.
• Provides clerical and administrative support for the daily operation of the cancer services department. Performs front office duties for the center. Assists with the preparation and filing of charts, billing and compliance. Work collaboratively with tumor registry to ensure cancer data integrity. Exchanges pertinent patient information for database. Maintains department's medical records in compliance with regulatory agencies and HIPAA.
• Schedules appointments for patients in accordance with departmental procedures. Schedules patients for radiation oncology procedures after authorization is obtained from various insurance companies. Prepares charts for new patients, prepare exam room for patient, take vital signs and assist doctor with procedures. Cleans and maintain instruments used in procedures.
• Maintains the cancer library and offers access to educational and supportive books and resources. Participates in fundraising activities to benefit cancer services.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
