**Schedule:** Full-Time, Monday-Friday

**Shift** : 40 hours per week Monday - Friday

**The role youll contribute:**

The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for providing personally and through subordinate managers direction of the operations and activities of the clinical services staff. The position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all staff in the Clinical Services Department, including subordinate supervisors and their direct reports.

1.0 Provides direction of the operations related to clinical services provided by Hospice staff. (60%)

1.1 Develop, revise and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines for the administration of clinical and support services by Hospice clinical staff and support employed to provide hospice and palliative care to patients.

1.2 Responds to significant circumstances escalated by managers to provide guidance and leadership and interpret policy.

1.3 Coordinates with the Director of Corporate Responsibility and Quality to ensure quality care is provided while maintaining compliance with outside regulatory agencies.

2.0 Supervisory Responsibilities (20%)

2.1 Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies, procedures and applicable laws, including employment laws.

2.2 Works collaboratively with the management of other Hospice departments in accomplishing employee interviewing, hiring, training and coaching functions.

2.3 Works collaboratively with the management of other Hospice departments to address complaints and assist in resolving employee relation issues and holds employees accountable for their performance/behaviors as necessary.

3.0 Additional Duties and Responsibilities (15%)

3.1 Participates in staff meetings, department meetings, in services and other related activities.

3.2 Attends educational and developmental seminars and meetings, as deemed appropriate.

3.3 Establishes strategic plans on department goal setting for upcoming year(s).

3.4 Participates as a chair person and/or member of strategic plan subcommittee(s) dependent upon plan requirements.

4.0 Performs all other duties as deemed necessary by Administrator or designee. (5%)

Qualifications

**The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:**

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**

Masters Degree in Nursing, Health Care, or related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the discretion of the Administrator.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of nursing including 2 years of hospital nursing or hospice/home health and 5 years supervisory nursing experience is required.

**_EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:_**

Certified Hospice and Palliative Nursing Certification is preferred.

**LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:**

A clear/active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
