The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth West Florida Division

The role you’ll contribute:

The financial services for the AdventHealth West Florida Region facilities are centralized for the region within the Central Accounting Office (CAO); thus, the Director of Decision Support performs separate functions for as many as eight (8) different hospitals as well as a large employed physician group (AdventHealth Physician Group). Service Level Agreements between the CAO and the Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) of each hospital define the scope of services performed and the performance expectations. As a member of the Leadership team, the Regional Director of Decision Support participates in formulating policy and in devising procedures essential to the achievement of objectives as well as developing and implementing organization plans.

The Regional Director of Decision Support must possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work interactively with other team members while meeting multiple deadlines and communicating effectively with multiple bosses is also necessary for success. Expectations of accuracy, completeness and timeliness in this environment are typically at a 95% or higher threshold on Senior Finance approved scorecard measures.

The Regional Director of Decision Support routinely analyzes, compiles and summarizes data using deductive reasoning skills in response to the needs of the VP Finance, Chief Financial Officers and finance leaders (from each campus), AdventHealth Corporate leaders, consultants, and external auditors (financial/governmental).

As a senior leader in a centralized, multihospital finance department, the position is responsible for fostering a professional, pleasant work environment and moving through assignments with velocity and precision. The Regional Director of Decision Support proactively partners with other members of the Leadership team to continuously improve processes in a fast-paced environment with many important projects running concurrently.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Responsible for Assisting the VP Finance with organization and management of assigned departments, administration and program development of the Tampa Market Central Accounting Office.
• Collaborates with finance team in designing and implementing plans, policies, procedures that provide for a sufficient number of appropriately qualified staff and other department members to care for the needs of the hospitals in the Tampa Market.
• Analyzes data reports and data warehouse efforts and assists VP Finance and CFOs with understanding trends and variances and with predicting future trends.
• Gathers information, completes and files all Division decision support requests, compliance questionnaires, government reports and surveys within scope of responsibility.
• Works collaboratively with other managers and directors to ensure that one level of accuracy and completeness is provided throughout the Tampa Market.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Finance, Business Administration or Accounting equivalent Bachelor’s Degree required
• Five (5) years experience in data analyzing, gathering or producing statistical reporting in a Finance, General Accounting, Decision Support, Health Services or Customer Service related field.
• Healthcare specific coursework or certifications preferred
• Master’s Degree preferred
• CPA desirable, though not required.
