The role you’ll contribute:

Reporting directly to the AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region RVP & Chief Nursing Officer, the Rocky Mountain Regional Director of Nursing Excellence will be operationally responsible for ANCC Magnet and Pathways to Excellence gap analysis, application, document, and site visit completion by working collaboratively with leadership at each acute care site. Additionally, the director will lead work on structure for nursing shared governance (facility and enterprise), nursing professional practice policy, nursing communication, clinical policies, and clinical placement coordination. The director will work collaboratively with Chief Nursing Officers and other nursing leaders to achieve the nursing strategic plan for the Rocky Mountain Region.

Important to this role is understanding the leadership expectations of this position and the entire leadership team throughout AdventHealth. This position will be a change agent for the health system by being bold in our thoughts and actions that generate the need for Urgency as we forge ahead as the thought leader in our industry. Finally, the individual must demonstrate personal and professional Accountability to our community, associates, physicians, and sponsors for performance for nursing and its team.

  • Enhance economies of scale in regional clinical services by working collaboratively with group leadership to implement programs and policies.
  • Leads and supports an environment and infrastructure that promotes professional growth. This includes the development and implementation of innovative nursing practices, interdisciplinary collaboration, and teamwork.
  • Collaborates with AdventHealth leaders, facility-based educators, advanced practice nurses, academic faculty, and members of professional organizations to influence curriculum development, research opportunities, and the professional practice of nursing.
  • Creates a vision and strategic plan for clinical education and professional practice within AdventHealth that enables the achievement of national distinction in nursing for clinical excellence.
  • Evaluates existing quality, risk-management, and clinical performance data in order to identify opportunities for education that would enhance clinical outcomes.
  • Understands the market and industry to anticipate changes and respond with programs and/or revenue enhancing opportunities.
  • Participates in tandem with facility CNOs in eliminating clinical variation and standardization across the system.
  • Promotes a shared governance framework for nursing shared decision making.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s in Nursing or other field if holds a BSN
  • Magnet Appraiser
  • 10 Years or more of nursing
  • 5 years or more in progressive nursing leadership
