Schedule: Full Time

Shift: M-F Days, some evenings and weekends as needed. Hybrid position (mix between being in-person and remote)

The role you’ll contribute:

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The Development Officer I (DOI) focuses on activities which identify prospective donors and retain current donors. Is key in building the beneficiary pipeline to maintain and develop the donation of funds and gifts for Florida Hospital programs. This will be in accordance with specified annual fundraising goals set forth by the Florida Hospital Foundation.

  • Demonstrates, through behavior, Florida Hospital’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork
  • Identifies and engages leaders of corporations, physicians, nurses, caregivers, hospital staff, administrators and community members as prospective Florida Hospital donors.
  • Responsible for design, strategy and implementation of a program to solicit current and lapsed donors each at least twice annually, and prospective donors at least annually, through a variety of media which might include direct mail, telephone, e-mail and social media.
  • Coordinates and implements, with other team members, appeals for donor contributions in conjunction with specified campaigns.
  • Stewards donor relationships.
  • Works with other beneficiary and wealth builder functions to contribute to the success of the Foundation team.
  • In conjunction with other Development Officers, achieves success in planning and executing introductory-type events designed to initiate a relationship between prospective donors and Florida Hospital.
  • Maintains an active computerized donor and prospect database. Prepares and submits contact and activity reports, and enters information into the donor database system in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to professional and ethical standards of practice. Communicates, cooperates and assists in a clear and courteous manner to all patients, visitors, co-workers, medical staff and volunteers. Utilizes exceptional interpersonal communication skills in both written and oral form. Maintains most current knowledge and skills relevant to the fundraising profession.
Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • One to three years’ fundraising experience in a regional or national organization with an active fundraising program or one year of successful experience in sales with a proven track record
  • In-depth knowledge of the Central Florida region, corporate and civic community
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field such fundraising and philanthropy, marketing, communications, or public relations
