The role you’ll contribute:

The Director of Imaging Operations is responsible for the operational support, planning, development, and execution of Enterprise Imaging systems (50 ). Accountable for the broad socialization of IT concepts and IT strategies in Imaging, Cardiology, and clinical video image management through AHS’s highly matrixed, integrated delivery network. Serves as an IT relationship executive to develop partnerships with executives and engages key stakeholders (executives, physicians, employees, vendors) to participate in the onboarding and approval of large-scale IT projects leveraging AdventHealth governance structures. Robust portfolio represents a broad range of IT application services for ambulatory, acute care and emergency services across all AHS locations. Focuses on emerging technology strategies and acts as a subject matter expert for the executive team. Accountable for the department’s team members, processes, technology, and customers that support the strategic IT Imaging portfolio. As part of a service organization, the Executive Director actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

  • Responsible for providing system-wide 24/7 customer service around multiple clinical applications for Clinicians and Providers at AdventHealth Systems and associated facilities staff for approximately 22,000 customers.
  • Consistently drives improvements in information systems services through the execution of excellence in financial management, performance measurement, issue management, project management and the use of ITSM methodology.
  • Demonstrates verbal ability to analyze issues and effectively present ideas and views to the highest levels of the organization. Works well with people at all levels of the organization and leads group efforts toward the resolution of complex problems in a professional, courteous, and impartial manner.
  • Communicates appropriately and effectively with team members and leadership on status of projects. Maintains awareness of management responsibilities and project status including any potential delays, situations or concerns that may affect their outcomes. Possesses knowledge of new trends in health care information systems available and all platforms required to support applications.
  • Provides insight, development, planning, implementation, and support for the AdventHealth Enterprise imaging strategies, initiatives, and workflows to consistently and optimally capture, index, manage, store, distribute, view, exchange, and analyze all clinical imaging and multimedia content to enhance the electronic health record.
  • Provides leadership in the planning, evaluation, and application support of the clinical information systems across the AdventHealth environments encompassing all clinical disciplines and areas, including but not limited to physicians, nursing, radiology, cardiology, surgery, anesthesia, emergency department, oncology, and endoscopy.
  • Facilitates the design, development and configuration of information systems and the policies and procedures aimed at maximizing efficiency, standardization, quality, patient safety and compliance resulting in maximum value to the organization. Analyzes the use of technology and utilizes performance improvement and change management science to continuously improve clinical safety, quality and the satisfaction of customers, staff and partners. Sorts priorities and accomplishes items of greatest importance.
  • Provides input to an application portfolio that includes 50 solutions. Continuously scans the market for new value-add solutions.
  • Develops managers, supervisors, and staff to drive high levels of engagement and to ensure deep technical and informatics skills, up-to-date healthcare industry knowledge and the promotion of collaboration, innovation, and a customer focused approach to all work.
  • Leader and Facilitator for documentation content review to include but not limited to Physicians, nursing, radiology, cardiology, surgery, anesthesia, emergency department, oncology, and endoscopy.
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, Healthcare, Administration or equivalent years of experience in the field of Healthcare IT
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role with Financial accountabilities
  • Minimum of 8 years’ Healthcare IT experience
  • Extensive project management experience
  • Vendor management experience
  • Experienced and proven ability to work effectively in a highly-matrixed organization
  • Extensive experience in leading and bringing to fruition successful physician related relationships
  • Extensive experience implementing and managing large scale information systems in a complex multi-faceted, geographically dispersed markets
  • Information systems and technology experience

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Understanding of current healthcare trends, such as clinically integrated Networks and reimbursement models.
  • Expert knowledge of Imaging and the latest technologies and support.
  • Leadership skills and knowledge of organizational principles to positively contribute to business and IT strategies, customer/stakeholder satisfaction, and the delivery of quality service outcomes in a high matrix-management environment in a large healthcare system.
  • Comprehension of ITSM and all stages of enterprise application life-cycle management: application strategy, software selection, development, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, operation and support within a multi-platform computing environment.
