Unit Description:

  • AdventHealth Heart of Florida is a licensed 193-bed acute care hospital, coupled with outpatient services including imaging, rehab, lab and wound care, that has been serving the community for over 50 years.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Clinical Educator is responsible for facilitating the development of system clinical education through active participation in orientation, training, on-going staff development and evaluation of clinical practice for all levels of personnel served. Participates in the development of formal and informal education programs and activities to communicate policy revision and organizational goals and improve standards and performance expectations. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

  • You Will Be Responsible For:
    • EDUCATION CREATION: Utilizes principles of education and adult learning to provide opportunities and experiences for professional growth consistent with the Novice to Expert continuum. Utilizes the process of systematic inquiry to develop educational activities. Integrates published research and current literature to develop and implement learning activities. Promotes continuous improvement. Collaborates to implement change.
    • PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Responsible for assigned system clinical education/projects including, but not limited to, education for regulatory compliance and system priorities. Organizes, facilitates and oversees quarterly education, including annual competencies for assigned job groups.
    • CAMPUS LIAISON: Serves as a liaison to all campuses for educational consultation, orientation of new campus educators and conducts campus rounds to oversee system and unit education. Assists campus educators with education initiatives as needed, including delegation of assigning education assistance duties to system educators.
    • INFORMAL LEADER: Though not a direct report, oversees daily work of assigned administrative assistant. Delegates work as appropriate.
    • TEAM PLAYER: Assists, as needed, with training and orientation programs skills, American Heart Association provider training and new campus/system educator orientation.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous teaching experience in formal/informal settings
  • For job class RE54, at least 1 year in a management role
  • Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
