The role you’ll contribute:

The Director of Quality and Documentation Integrity is responsible for creating and driving the strategic plans for AdventHealth Primary Health Division’s quality and clinical documentation integrity initiatives. The director leads partnerships with key stakeholders including over 400 Primary Care physicians and APPs to ensure coding and documentation are captured at every encounter, through guidance offered by quality and documentation specialists. The director is also responsible for ensuring all quality requirements by contract are understood and action plans are in place across the division to capitalize on pay for performance/pay for quality arrangements. The director has responsibility for strategizing and developing targeted campaigns to promote completion of Annual Wellness Visits, Transitional Care Management, and care gap closure across all contracts.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Creates and drives the strategic plan for the organization’s quality and clinical documentation integrity aspects of the division necessary to remain successful in the face of healthcare’s evolving, complex changes.
  • Identifies available opportunities in current contracts and seeks new opportunities for additional contract opportunities to maximize financial opportunities through available contract terms, such as addressing suspect conditions, completing annual wellness requirements, and addressing Hierarchical Category Condition coding opportunities, among others.
  • Reviews quality contractual requirements and develops strategies and targeted campaigns to drive measure success and maximizes financial opportunities available at every opportunity.
  • Stays abreast of payor requirements and measure stewards for updates and annual changes to measures and ensures all internal stakeholders are apprised of such changes.
  • Works closely with a variety of functional groups who are responsible for project execution, to refine and develop processes for ongoing quality improvement and clinical documentation integrity for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reviews FFS contract performance to identify targeted areas for improvement.
  • Strengthens and optimizes the workflow effort, advising on optimum structures and helping to build-out dedicated teams and deliverables for quality and clinical documentation integrity.
  • Partners with other support areas to inform and enforce business process and team/project governance methodologies and best practices.
  • Helps shape early workflow planning and further refinements as necessary throughout the project process up to hand-off to implementation teams.
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or Healthcare related field
  • Five (5) years’ management experience in a hospital, physician group practice, or health system environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • LPN, RN, CMA or other clinical training or experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • None

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

  • Coding certification from a nationally recognized agency such as AAPC or AHIMA
