Life Skills Trainer

Compensation: Part Time, Competitive Pay, Flexible Scheduling

Plan, Provide and Support life skills training services to the Medicaid population by teaching members vital life skills to live on their own as they go through life changing circumstances including transitioning from an institutional setting to a home and community-based setting. The goal of the Life Skills Training program is to optimize independence by improving members physical, emotional, and financial independence in the community. Life Skills Training is a Colorado Medicaid Waiver Program and may be provided in the client's residence, in the community.

Position Responsibilities Include:

One-on-one assessment and training with clients to increase skills needed to live independently.

Coaching and support of clients regarding a wide range of skills, such as:

Self-care o Task completion o Communication and interpersonal skills

Mobility

Community transportation skills

Budgeting and money management

Household maintenance

Time Management, scheduling, and appointment planning

Goal setting and decision making

Emergency preparedness

Client advocacy and assistance with development of client self-advocacy and assertiveness.

Assistance with orientation and adjustment to new environment, system, or life change.
