Lead Financial Reporting Analyst, Irvine, CA

Responsibilities: Design, build, test, and deliver one-time and recurring financial reports, data visualizations, and custom extracts using applicable business intelligence tools. Produce and consolidate monthly reports, including key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting. Develop and prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting packages for enterprise leadership to include financial statements, KPIs, significant business trends, actual vs budget/forecast variances and comprehensive explanations of material differences. Utilizing independent judgment and understanding of finance principles to identify trends, variances, and key issues to provide recommendations for more effective reporting. Investigate, locate, and fix discrepancies and other issues within reports, dashboards, and finance data systems, conducting thorough investigation combined with follow-through and urgency to support business needs. Working autonomously, identify potential data quality issues and partner with IT engineering teams to resolve. Consult with IT and key stakeholders to ensure future designs of data and operational systems meet reporting needs of finance team. Design and distribute QA reports of financial data, respond to select internal and external audit requests, and recommend improvement to internal audit team. Develop new analytical resources and implement strategies to continuously improve Corporate FP&A processes and enhance our understanding of drivers of the business.

Qualifications: THIS POSITION REQUIRES A BACHELOR’S DEGREE (OR FOREIGN EQUIVALENT) IN DATA SCIENCE, ACCOUNTING, FINANCE, OR BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED FIELD, PLUS 5 YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE IN THE POSITION OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED OCCUPATION. IN THE ALTERNATIVE THE POSITION REQUIRES A MASTER’S DEGREE (OR FOREIGN EQUIVALENT) IN DATA SCIENCE, ACCOUNTING, FINANCE OR BUSINESS ADMINISTARTION, OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED FIELD, PLUS 2 YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE IN THE POSITION OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED OCCUPATION.

Special Requirements: REQUIRED EXPERTISE/KNOWLEDGE OF: 1. Knowledge of accounting OR financial principles and practices, including a demonstrated basic knowledge of GAAP application. 2. Experience with Power BI, SQL software tools, and data analytical software like R Programming. 3. Experience with data management tools, such as Oracle Hyperion, Microsoft Dynamics, and/or SAP. 4. Experience in Power Query, VBA, Pivot Tables, and complex functions. MUST POSSESS EXPERTISE/ KNOWLEDGE SUFFICIENT TO ADEQUATELY PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB BEING OFFERED. Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree (Preferred) Master's Degree

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Data Science, Accounting, Finance or Business, with subsequent 5 years work experience with progressively responsibilities in Data Science, Accounting, or Finance.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities • Extensive experience with Power BI and SQL reporting required.• Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, VBA, Pivot Tables, and complex functions.• Overall strong technical ability to leverage a broad array of systems and process automation• Strong quantitative analytic ability and modeling • Excellent time-management skills with demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines.• Must present a professional image and be able to represent the Company in a professional manner.
