Job Summary
A Welder is responsible for welding a variety of sheet metal and plate parts with close tolerances in a precision sheet metal manufacturing environment. Must be able to set up various MIG & TIG welding machines and be able to perform a wide range of welding techniques on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, with a high degree of efficiency, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Essential Functions
• Correctly and consistently set up and operate a MIG & TIG welding machine and torch.
• Perform basic maintenance and achieve peak performance from welding machines.
• Read blueprint requirements for creating precision welding joints.
• Use a variety of measuring tools and use basic math skills.
• Use computers for basic data entry and document retrieval.
• Use problem solving skills as necessary.
• Cleans work area, tools, and equipment as necessary.
• Ability to get certified to AWS specifications for various processes helpful.
• Always demonstrate safe working practices.
• Complies with all company processes and internal quality system.
Required Education and Experience
• Highschool diploma or GED Required
• Ability to pass TIG welding assessment.
• Knowledge of both TIG and MIG Welding preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with TIG welding in a manufacturing environment or completion of trade school education in welding
• Must be detail oriented to ensure quality standards are met.
• Must have ability to communicate clearly and concisely using verbal and/or written communication.
Work Environment
This position is in a manufacturing shop environment that is clean and fast paced. Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time may be required. Some exposure to noise and various types of equipment is typical. Must be able to lift and pull up to 50 lbs.
Schedule
There are Shift 1 – 6:00AM– 2:30PM & Shift 2 - 2:15PM- 10:45PM positions available. Additional time may be required on an as needed basis.
Compensation
Compensation for this position starting at $17 - $21 hourly.
