Job Description

Armed security guards respond to unexpected or emergency events on corporate premises by using company-owned vehicles.

Job responsibilities include:

• Keeps all allocated protective equipment, restraining devices, and firearms in good working order. Controls access to the client site or facility through the use of the admission process; prevents illegal entry to premises as well as theft, or purposeful damage of property resources.
• Maintains the security and safety of client property and staff by observing and reporting actions and events. Conducts routine inspections of protective devices and fire control equipment.
• Patrols allocated location on foot, looking for hazardous situations, unsecured doors, and security violations.
• Responds to fires, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharges, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, severe weather, and other disasters.
• Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting may be required as well.
• Must be able to satisfy and maintain all state, county, and municipal license and permit requirements for Security Officers and armed security employment, as well as specialized protective device and weapon certifications.
• Experience in physical security, military service, law enforcement, or a comparable sector that is adequate to fulfill the company's minimal criteria for state and municipal licensure and/or site regulations.

The physical and mental requirements of this profession may involve seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly, with or without appropriate accommodation. Reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and crawling on occasion.
