JOB SUMMARY*
The LVN in this position will perform routine to complex technical nursing duties under the supervision/direction of a Registered Nurse, House Supervisor, Nurse Director or ACNO, in accordance with nursing policies, practices, and procedures. Primary duties include nursing assessment and care; administration of medications; treatments and first aid to individuals; educating staff, individuals, and families on health-related issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Perform routine to complex technical nursing duties under the supervision/direction of a Registered Nurse, House Supervisor, Nurse Director or ACNO, in accordance with nursing policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Duties will include but are not limited to medication administration, immunizations, admissions, and emergency first aid.
  • This position will collect and send samples to medical labs for testing, complete patient paperwork, and collaborate with physicians to determine a care plan for patients.
  • Takes vital signs and monitors the medical progress of patients. Completes documentation and reporting.
  • Follows physician's orders and individual nursing care plans, including assisting patients with daily routines.
  • Provides all patient information collected to the responsible RN, who verifies and interprets the information, conducts additional assessments, as necessary, and develops, monitors, and revises.
  • Adheres to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards. Performs other duties as assigned, within the scope of practice and clinical competency.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization.

REQUIREMENTS’

  • One (1) year in an Acute Care / Hospital Setting
  • Experience in Med Surg
  • Experience with electronic charting preferred.
  • Current, Valid State of Texas LVN License
  • BLS-American Heart Association Required.
  • ACLS required.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited LVN program

  • Current, Valid State of Texas LVN License
  • BLS-American Heart Association Required.
  • ACLS required.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to problem solve and clarify necessary steps of logic and reasoning in a professional manner.
  • Must be familiar with MS Office, including Excel.
