THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Lead Systems Design Engineer to join our Data Center GPU team. As a pivotal contributor to the success of AMD's Instinct line of products, you will drive innovation and improvement in delivering industry-leading GPU technologies to the market. This role requires a deep technical acumen combined with strong leadership capabilities, ensuring the highest quality solutions for our data center GPU clients.

THE PERSON:

In this senior technical leadership position, you will be responsible for orchestrating balanced, scalable, and automated solutions across our Data Center GPU product line. Your role is not only pivotal in software systems engineering for product development and definition but also in fostering cross-team collaboration for root cause resolution and customer support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize the latest technological advancements to develop and optimize GPU SoC products and platforms, particularly focusing on AMD's Instinct products.
• Lead efforts to identify and implement innovative methods, design experiments, and build consensus across various teams including silicon design, system validation, firmware and software.
• Drive system-level problem resolution through experimental design and data-driven decisions, focusing on power, performance, and total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization.
• Establish credibility and communicate technical positions clearly with engineering and leadership teams, driving alignment on solutions.
• Lead and direct the work of domain specialists across multiple engineering disciplines and geographies to deliver outstanding results.
• Exhibit strong debug skills, demonstrating the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues down to their root cause.
• Develop and deliver clear, effective customer communications, providing clarity in complex technical situations.
• Innovate continuously, as evidenced by successful product launches and contributions to the field.
• Expertise in Power/Performance and/or Post-Silicon validation in the context of data center GPU products.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Deep knowledge of GPU system architecture and design, including memory, I/O, signal integrity, power integrity, packaging, thermal, and mechanical aspects.
• Proven experience working with leading technology companies to engineer top-tier products.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
