SR Debug Capabilities Architect

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a SR Debug Capabilities Architect to join our Data Center GPU Systems Design and Enablement team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the debug steering forum to ensure issues and defects during our design, development, validation, manufacturing, and postproduction phases are managed effectively to provide high quality and performant Data Center GPU products that delight our customers.

THE PERSON:

In this highly technical leadership position, the Debug Capabilities Architect will play a vital role in the post-Silicon debugging of AMD's Instinct line of Data Center GPU products. This role goes beyond traditional debugging; it requires deep engagement with end customers to understand their system configurations and architect a scalable, effective debug infrastructure. Your efforts will be crucial in enhancing product quality and customer satisfaction. Collaborating closely with System Validation and Engineering teams, System Architects, IP design, SoC, FW, SW, and manufacturing stakeholders, you will focus on elevating the performance and reliability of the AMD Instinct products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Architecting and leading the development of a scalable debug infrastructure tailored for AMD's Instinct line of Data Center GPUs.
• Engaging directly with end customers to understand their system configurations and needs, integrating this insight into the debug architecture.
• Managing and resolving complex debug challenges specific to the data center GPU products, ensuring timely identification of root causes and solutions.
• Overseeing the entire debug process, from technical issue management and risk assessment to executive and customer communication.
• Continuously analyzing and enhancing debug program indicators, with a particular focus on aligning with Instinct products and customer requirements.
• Assessing program milestones and open issues to guide the project's direction and ensure alignment with customer needs.
• Driving process improvements in debugging, prioritizing GPU-specific considerations and direct customer feedback.
• 12 years of relevant experience, heavily focused on GPU technologies and customer-facing roles.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Extensive experience in validation and debugging roles, with a strong focus on GPU technologies, particularly in data center environments.
• Deep understanding of PC industry standard buses like PCIe and their software stack, as applied to GPU applications.
• Expert knowledge of data center system management (BMC/SMC), X86 architecture, SoC design, memory, RAS, power management, with specialization in GPU technologies.
• Exceptional skills in customer relationship management, communication, and coordination, tailored for a technical leadership role.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple work streams and tight deadlines.
• A comprehensive understanding of datacenter industry technologies, software stacks, and customer needs, especially regarding GPU applications.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Engineering
