Primary Responsibilities:

• Coordinates surgical procedures and related pre-operative services; effectively communicates pre-op instructions to patients and documents pertinent information in the patient record
• Advocates for and functions as a liaison between the patient and facilities to answer service-related questions and avoid delays in patient care
• Confirms cases with facilities and patients in advance of the service date and documents confirmation status in the patient record
• Maintains a good working knowledge of pre-op requirements, insurance regulations, and facilities requirements related to surgical patient services

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Intermediate computer skills
• Analytical skills to foresee process roadblocks
• Detailed focus on accuracy and completeness of documentation requirements

Preferred:

• Knowledge of Medical terminology
• Understanding of Health Insurance authorization processes
• Previous experience scheduling surgeries is a plus
• Certified Medical Assistant is a plus
