Advanced Home Health Care - Licensed, Medicaid and Medicare certified Agency, located in West Hartford, has an immediate opening for an Office assistant - Clinical Record File Clerk

Duties and responsibilities:

· Assume primary responsibility for management of the agency's clinical records:

o Manage all the hard copy clinical records including active and discharged clinical records of patients served by the Agency;

o Establish and then maintain internal hard copy data management systems to ensure timeliness, accuracy and integrity of clinical records;

o Review all discharge records for completion before filing;

o Maintain timeliness of thinning active clinical records;

o Maintain the accuracy and function of the files within the file cabinets, including the discharged clinical records room;

o Maintain confidentiality of all patient information per HIPAA regulations.

Complete projects/assignments within specific timetables.

· Perform other duties when requested by the Administrator or the President.

· Represent the Agency in a professional and positive manner and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with the AHHCA staff, patients, referral sources and the public.

Qualifications:

· Home Health experience preferred.

· High school diploma required.

· Minimum of 1 year of experience in a professional office setting

· Able to organize work procedures, assume responsibility

· Able to effectively provide hands-on coverage for all clerical staff.

· Possesses excellent computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office.
