Job Summary: The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) will provide direct patient care services under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT). The PTA will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information as required.

PTA Duties/Responsibilities:

o Administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain, improve or restore function, and promote healing.

o Provides skilled physical therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist

o Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to Physical Therapist

o Implements and modifies the patient’s physical therapy plan of treatment with PT supervision.

o Measures & records patient’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance

o Monitor patient response to treatment intervention and modify treatment approach and directive as clinically appropriate with IDT collaboration.

o Provide clinical support and education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

o Ensure documentation is completed thoroughly and timely and complies with all company and state/federal regulatory requirements.

o Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab.

PTA Skills:

o SNF/Long term care experience preferred.

o Current knowledge of treatment practices

o Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred.

o Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.

Required Licensure:

o Active/Valid Texas license as Physical Therapy Assistant

o In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards
