Summary of Job Purpose: Applies philosophy of Advanced Health Care in all job duties. Provides direct care for patients and maintains a safe, clean environment, treating all patients and staff with respect and dignity.
Duty to Patients:
1. Perform or assist with ADL’s using ADL charting form as a guide.
2. Be aware of patient’s needs at all times.
3. Answer call lights promptly.
4. Provide restorative care as directed.
5. Respond to patient’s physical and emotional needs.
6. Maintain privacy and confidentiality.
7. Assist with admission and orientation of patients to unit and facility.
8. Respect religious beliefs and provide spiritual and emotional support.
Duty to Facility:
1. Incorporate Advanced Health Care’s philosophy into every task and function.
2. Follow all safety procedures to maintain an accident-free environment for patients and staff. Practice proper lifting techniques.
3. Participate in fire drills according to procedure.
4. Participate in facility functions and committee memberships when available.
Duty to Co-Workers:
1. Report to work promptly and complete time sheets accurately. No overtime without prior approval of the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
2. Is flexible and works as assigned without complaint. Will float to other units as needed.
3. Follow policies and procedures.
4. Report pertinent problems to the charge nurse or supervisor in a timely manner.
5. Offers positive reinforcement to co-workers.
6. Accepts and applies constructive criticism.
7. Welcomes new employees.
8. Functions as a team member, assisting others as needed.
9. Accepts additional duties as required by charge nurse or supervisor.
Duty to Other Departments:
1. Maintains open communication with other department staff members and responds to requests promptly.
2. Perform related duties as required.
Duty to Self:
1. Meets personal goals for job performance and job satisfaction.
2. Maintains professional appearance and conduct.
3. Attends required number of in-services to maintain State determinations.
4. Attends unit and other staff meetings.
