The metal prep operator is responsible for ensuring all visible weld joints are ground down to specified callouts (class 1, 2, or 3). Primarily precision sheet metal applications.
Reports to: Production supervisor
Responsibilities:
· Prep welded parts to proper finish class.
· Ability to work efficiently, while maintaining strong quality standards.
Minimum Previous Experience:
· Ability to interpret weld symbols called out on blueprints.
· At least 1 year of previous experience working in a metal fabrication shop grinding and prepping parts.
Minimum Additional Training:
Other Skills:
· Ability to read and understand work instructions and blueprints.
· Ability to cross train in other departments as necessary.
