JOB SUMMARY

Our organization is seeking an experienced, dedicated and personable individual to join our front desk receptionist team. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing and energetic personality, excellent administrative skills and a history of working in a fast-paced office environment. We are looking for a candidate who has excellent interpersonal skills, maintains a pleasant demeanor and is able to prioritize their workload.

The ER Patient Registration Support is responsible for customer service, online patient registration assistance, scheduling appointments, and check-in, as well as supporting/covering the front desk. This will often require interacting with walk-in visitors, vendor traffic and scheduled appointments with the business offices.

All Registration Support are an integral part of the organization and is the first point of contact for the location. The incumbent will dress professionally, have a great welcoming personality and exceptional customer service skills. Bilingual preferred, not required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will welcome guests and greet visitors entering.
  • Sit at the front desk in ER coordinating front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls.
  • Accurately collects and enters all patient demographic and financial information for all registration types. This includes obtaining signatures, scanning/imaging all documents (POS’s, ID’s, etc.), and collection of patient financial responsibility.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and co-pay information in accordance within established guidelines.
  • Obtains information from physician’s offices and other resources, if necessary, to complete the registration process.
  • Provides Federal and State information on the General Conditions of Admissions, Consent, Assignment of Benefits regarding Advance Directives, Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities, HIPAA and obtains signed acknowledgements. Obtains all needed documents and signatures. Accurately complete the Medicare questionnaire.
  • Completes the registration process including forms, labels, armbands, and other forms as necessary.
  • Ensure the ER reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms, brochures, etc.)
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.
  • Patient Registrar will have a pleasant personality, as this position is also a customer service role.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle many incoming calls or patients at once.
  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries.
  • Efficient and accurate typing & data-entry skills.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as ER Receptionist, Front Desk Clerk, Customer Service, ER Patient Registration, or Similar Role.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Bilingual PREFERRED
