POSITION: In-House Legal Associate

LOCATION: Corporate Office in Franklin, TN

HOURS: 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Preparation of all contracts
• Prepare program overviews and oversee responses to requests for proposals and invitations to bid
• Draft and negotiate new contracts, amendments, and letters of understanding with clients
• Review and negotiate vendor contracts
• Review corporate documentation
• Oversee outside counsel handling potential and pending litigation
• Any and all other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL:

This position occasionally requires travel.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Juris Doctorate
• Attorney licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee.

• Strong legal writing skills including excellent attention to detail
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to devise creative solutions for complex issues
• The ability to work under multiple strict deadlines in a high stress environment without sacrificing courteousness
• The ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
• Trustworthy, confident, and responsible when handling or presenting sensitive information
• Strong Microsoft Office, Internet, and email skills
• Must be able to drive a motor vehicle
