Advanced Behavioral Health is Hiring a Bilingual Case Manager Near Gaithersburg, MD

Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. is looking for a Spanish speaking Case Manager, who will be responsible for the advocacy, coordination, and evaluation of client care through the establishment of treatment programs, monitoring cases and clients' records, and communicating progress to therapeutic team and client's family.

ABH is a family centered mental health program that offers a wraparound approach to treatment. We specialize in Psychiatry, Off-Site Counseling Services, On-Site therapy, and Therapeutic Mentoring. Location: Any of our ABH office locations: Frederick, Baltimore, Gaithersburg, Greenbelt, or Westminster
Position Status: Full-Time; Hourly, Non-Exempt
Office Hours: Core office hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Essential Functions:

  • Comply with CARF/COMAR/HIPPA/State compliance regulations.
  • Ensure staff compliance with EMR and uphold the 48-hour documentation standard.
  • Establishes treatment programs by setting schedules and routines; coordinating services being provided; arranging resources, including transportation and escort.
  • Monitors cases by verifying clients’ attendance; observing and evaluating treatments and responses; advocating for needed services and entitlements; obtaining additional resources; intervening in crises; providing personal support.
  • Maintains clients’ records by reviewing case notes, logging events and progress.
  • Communicates clients’ progress by conducting weekly interdisciplinary meetings and evaluations; disseminating results and obstacles to therapeutic team and family; identifying treatment influences.
  • Prepares clients’ discharge by reviewing and amplifying discharge plans; coordinating discharge and post-discharge requirements; orienting and training family members; providing resources.
  • Improves staff competence by providing educational resources; balancing work requirements with learning opportunities; evaluating the application of learning to changes in treatment results.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Actively works on acquiring authorizations through Optum.
  • Consistently updates client authorizations in the EMR system.
  • Diligently sends discharge warnings and discharges clients in EMR system and Optum.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related discipline.
  • Bilingual – fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of clinic territory. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to manage, delegate and manage multiple tasks with completing deadlines and priorities.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and people skills are essential.
  • Ability to be proactive and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
