Who We Are:

Advanced Anesthesia Services specializes in providing anesthesia services to a wide variety of medical clinics in the northwest. We currently work with 13 different ambulatory surgery centers in the greater Seattle area. Our 23 CRNA's perform approximately 14,000 anesthesia cases a year and we have an office administrative and billing staff of 4.

Who we Need:

We are seeking an experienced accounts receivable specialist with the ability to multitask, work at a fast pace, and maintain a high level of organization and detail. Experience working in anesthesia would provide a particular advantage (but is not necessary).

Under general supervision, the Revenue Cycle Specialist will work closely with the Revenue Cycle team to maximize reimbursement from insurance carriers, patients, and miscellaneous entities. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work well independently as part of a fast-paced team. The Revenue Cycle Specialist will develop strong knowledge of insurance carrier policies, clearinghouse edits, and clinical requirements to expedite the cash flow process.

This position is largely remote position with the ability to be in our office in Snoqualmie for occasional trainings and team meetings. There is flexibility between 30 or 40 hours a week and time of day worked.

Responsibilities:

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in taking daily patient phone calls and questions, provide cost estimates to patients for upcoming procedures
  • Accounts Receivable Management: timely resolution of denials, no response claims, and aged AR
  • Troubleshoot and resolving billing issues that may arise
  • Collect on past due accounts
  • Timely processing of patient refunds and resolution of overpayments
  • Problem-solve tech issues that affect day-to-day billing operations
  • Responsible for setting up and monitoring patient payment plans
  • Process patient accounts for collections when appropriate with contracted collections service
  • Set up new insurance portals or website access as needed, set up new user accounts for billing staff
  • Coordinate and perform functions related to staff credentialing, reappointment, and privileging with external facilities and payers
  • Maintain all written/verbal correspondence and data collection records regarding provider status and credentialing process
  • Participate in the creation of new workflow processes for data pull, authorization, and EHR integration for billing team
  • Back-up for Cash Posting
  • Will be cross-trained for team coverage in various tasks - claims posting, payment posting, registration.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

High School Graduate or Equivalent.

  • 2-3 years experience on a medical billing team or working in a revenue cycle process.
  • Experience working with all major insurance carriers and portals.
  • Must have a good knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, procedure codes.
  • Must be able to plan and prioritize workflow and produce an acceptable volume of work accurately.
  • Must possess strong analytical and research capabilities to clinical documentation.
  • Solid understanding of insurance terms as well as how to interpret an explanation of benefits (EOB) is essential for this role.
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical record systems and strong computer skills.
  • Beneficial - experience filing insurance appeals, credentialing, scheduling

Pay depends on experience and W2 or Contractor status. W2 position comes with benefits and PTO for Full Time work. 1099 Contractors do not receive health benefits or PTO.
