Advance Testing Company, Inc., an established New York-based construction materials testing and inspection firm with several offices throughout the Northeast is currently seeking a full-time Precast/Prestressed Concrete Fabrication Inspector to work on projects in the Northeastern United States. We are seeking senior experienced Inspectors, as well as entry-level individuals.

Precast/prestressed concrete products are structural components used in almost every construction project. These products are fabricated in a controlled environment at a precast concrete facility and then shipped to the construction jobsite for installation or erection. Precast construction has become more and more popular due to its exceptional quality, ease of installation, and cost savings. Some examples of precast products include bridge beams girders and decks, building wall panels and columns, parking garages, culverts, manholes, and architectural sound barriers.

The position entails Quality Control/Quality Assurance oversight, detailed inspection, and thorough documentation of a precast/prestressed concrete plant’s production for government, DOT and private construction projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Inspect the production of precast concrete products to verify compliance with construction contract documents (shop drawings, specifications, standards, etc.)
• Utilize company-issued laptop with standard computer software (Microsoft Word & Excel, Adobe, etc.) to generate daily technical reports
• Perform standard testing on construction materials
• Communicate with clients, plant personnel, and Advance Testing management on a daily basis

Required Skills:

• Must be able to work construction schedules as assignment durations may vary and travel is required
• Excellent work ethic, dependable, and punctual
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong computer literacy, as use of a laptop, standard office software, printers, scanners, and cameras are needed to generate daily reports
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings is a plus

Required Qualifications:

• Authorized to work in the United States of America
• Driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

• ACI Field Concrete Testing Technician – Grade 1
• PCI Level I, II, or III Quality Control Technician/Inspector certification

If you do not already have the required certification(s), Advance Testing will train and arrange certification courses and exams if you meet any of the below experience/education requirements:

• Associate degree in concrete technology
• Bachelor of science degree in civil engineering or related field
• Six (6) months of experience in a precast concrete plant
• Twelve (12) months of experience in a related field
