Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
- Schedule appointments for patients and maintain the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees
- Maintain patient records and ensure they are accurate and up to date
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail
- Keep the reception area clean and organized
Skills:
- Experience with medical scheduling (EMR) ECW or similar systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle difficult or upset patients
- Proficient in using front desk equipment such as phones, computers, and printers
- Able to be a strong team player
