Job Description Location: New York, NY Condé Nast is looking for a Designer to join the award-winning art team at GQ. This role will be focused on a wide-range of design-oriented tasks including, but not limited to: illustration, animation and motion design, layout, typography, logo design and ideation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all of those areas and should be comfortable creating assets for use across all platforms—which include the magazine, website, social media properties, live and online events and programs, various physical products, and more. This individual will also be highly collaborative, solution-oriented, and possess strong organizational skills. A proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently arising daily and weekly deadlines is essential. This role will report to the Global Design Director, GQ and is based in New York, NY. Working at Conde Nast's NYC office 3 days per week is required. Responsibilities may include: Create thoughtful and dynamic editorial illustrations for stories across print and digital platforms. These will range from photo collages to fully-conceived original artwork. Create unique still and motion assets for videos, social media posts, newsletters, live events, and more. Layout and design pages of the print magazine, including front of book and well features. Commission editorial illustrations. Design logos and branding for franchises and series. Work closely with the design team to maintain quality and consistency while evolving GQ’s global visual identity. Additional responsibilities as assigned. Desired Skills and Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in design or related area of focus. Skilled in the areas of graphic design, illustration, typography and animation. Proficiency using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and After Effects. Extreme attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Open to working a flexible schedule. Familiarity with and interest in GQ. 2 years of relevant work experience working in media (or similar field). The expected base salary range for this position is from $65,000-$72,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education. What happens next?
