Advance Industrial Maintenance & Machine is Hiring a Fabricator Near Augusta, GA

Advance Industrial Maintenance & Machine is a full service machine shop, fabrication and field maintenance business located in Augusta, Ga. We enjoy what we do and it shows through our employees, culture and quality of work. Our team is looking to add a highly motivated and experienced Fabricator. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in fabricating and welding, and will be proficient in creating custom steel products. This position will judge fabricating and welding methods on the basis of speed, cost, quality and safety. Our Fabricator/Welder will be tasked with assembling parts and products, fabricating custom steel products to meet exacting customer specifications while ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner, using high-quality materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Mig, Tig and Stick welding of Stainless Steel, Mild steel, and Aluminum
  • Follow safety protocols and check all equipment for working order and examine work area for safety
  • Read and follow work orders, blueprints, build drawings and specification sheets
  • Set up necessary equipment
  • Place parts according to work orders, blueprints and build drawings
  • Fit parts according to work orders, blueprints and/or build drawings
  • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, rivets, or other fasteners
  • Use hand tools, air tools, and measuring devices
  • Perform math functions in standard and metric such as read tape measure, take measurements, mark materials, add and subtract simple fractions and metric measurements
  • Tack or weld parts into place using wire feed welding equipment
  • Set up and operate equipment using computers and manual controls
  • Operate various cranes and other equipment, including forklifts and trucks to move and load raw materials and products
  • Operate machinery in a safe and productive manner
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient in reading blueprints
  • 2-3 years of welding experience required
  • Exhibit knowledge of material identification, equipment utilization and welding equipment set-up and maintenance
  • Capable of performing basic math calculations in both standard and metric systems
  • Adept at taking measurements and marking materials
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willing to take direction from supervisors and lead personnel
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
