Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catholic Religious Education (CRE) Coordinator to support the AMS priest for a p/t pending government contract. Implementing a comprehensive Religious Education (RE) and Sacramental preparation program. The CRE Coordinator will serve as the focal point, advisor, and coordinator for CRE services in accordance with the description and duties outlined herein. This is a 1099 p/t role with around 24 hours per week allocated.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate regular RE opportunities, including Adult RE, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD), and Sacramental Education for First Communion, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation.
• Manage the AMS Family Faith Assessment online resource to support at-home family faith learning.
• Provide registration activities and ensure timely forwarding of registrations to the Catholic Chaplain each semester.
• Coordinate classroom, administrative, and audiovisual support requirements for all RE volunteers.
• Support planning and execution of Advent and Lenten Special Events and services to educate families and the entire Catholic community concerning the Catholic faith.
• Collaborate with other Catholic ministries to ensure an integrated approach to catechetical efforts.
• Maintain communication with volunteers, students, parents, chapel staff, base personnel, and others regarding current and upcoming programs.

Qualifications/Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Practicing Catholic who has received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
• Certified AMS Catechist with Basic Catechist Certification.
• Completion of Advanced Certificate Program preferred.
• Current Safe Environment Training completion.
• Recent experience in teaching, coordinating, or directing a RE program in a chapel/church setting.
• Basic proficiency with computers and Microsoft software.
• Ability to work unsupervised in a fluid and sometimes-stressful environment.
• Ability to maintain healthy, functional interpersonal relationships with coworkers and customers.
• Ability to maintain professional, courteous relationships with Chaplain Corps staff, other chapel community contractors, and chapel community participants.

Required:
Interested candidates should have one or two letters of reference from Catholic Pastors, demonstrating enthusiasm and fitness for RE ministry.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week

Work Location: In person
