The basic function of the Warehouse Person is to ensure the proper loading and unloading of tucks, accurate receiving and put away of items to be stored/inventoried, the accurate and productive picking of work orders, security of the premises, inventory control, proper completion of paperwork and adherence to standard good housekeeping practices and safety policies.

EDUCATION

Preferred: High School Diploma

LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

Required: Valid Driver’s License

Required: Over 21 Years Old

EXPERIENCE

One (1) year or more of warehouse operations experience.
One (1) year or more of forklift experience.

Preferred: Ability to calculate list of numbers, logically work through problems, work independently, legibly record lists of materials and make appropriate decisions. Experience in the household goods moving and storage.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

BODY POSITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, operate forklifts and scissor lifts and load/unload trucks for prolonged periods of time. 

BODY MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; and bending, reaching, and crouching.

BODY SENSES: Must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to printed documents.

STRENGTH: Must have the ability to lift seventy five (75) pounds with regularity.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Warehouse Person reports to, and is accountable to Warehouse Manager and the Chief Operations Officer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Making it understood that THE CUSTOMER IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY and that each employee is here to support that priority.

• Loading contents into storage vaults.
• Wrapping of furniture items with pads is completed in a professional manner to minimize or eliminate possible damage.
• Properly documents the Storage Vaults inventory.
• Adherence to guidelines of the interior and exterior physical conditions of the grounds and facilities. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Clean, clear and safe aisles in the warehouse
  • All furniture and storage items are properly tagged (identified) and put away
  • Outside areas are safe and in operating order including all fencing, grounds and buildings.
• Will be trained in the safe and proper uses of the warehouse forklifts.
• Other duties and tasks that may be assigned to him/her from time to time by the Chief Warehouse Supervisor, Operations Officer and/or the Chief Executive Officer.
• Team Player. Works well with others.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position will be working primarily outdoors with some indoors (warehouse) work required from time to time.
