Job Description

Objective
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager/Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating and managing projects of varying size and complexity. The Project Manager/Estimator will work closely with other members of the team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Your mission is simple but crucial: start to finish job knowledge, beginning at the estimate stage. Once a job is awarded, lead project planning, ensure budget integrity, enforce safety measures, act as the communication hub for projects from start to finish and ensure we are delivering projects on time, within budget, resulting in satisfied customers.

To succeed in this role, you will be detail oriented, technically proficient, a clear communicator, willing to deal with conflict directly, hungry for growing responsibility and love seeing construction jobs through to successful completion. Though experience helps, we are considering all levels for this position regarding both industry exposure and overall experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review preliminary project drawings and assess the scope, including any potential risk factors
  • Prepare pricing estimates: developing a takeoff of all materials and labor required for the project and coordinating with outside vendors to produce a complete cost estimate
  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and timelines for assigned projects
  • Monitor the progress of projects and report the status to management
  • Identify and resolve project issues and risks in a timely manner
  • Manage project resources and ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards
  • Full familiarity of contracts with vendors and subcontractors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and partners
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred but not required
  • Experience in project management and/or estimating strongly preferred but not required (we are willing to train individuals new to the field)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specs and shop drawings
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication and metal building construction is a plus
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented
  • Comfortable with using and learning new software
  • Proven track record of successful getting things done on time, on budget
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other project management software.
  • Knowledge of construction codes and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
