Adler Pelzer Group is Hiring a Regional Director of Program Management HQ Near Troy, MI

Adler Pelzer Group - a growing global Tier 1 supplier of Acoustic and Thermal Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is seeking for a strong and motivated individual to fill the position of Regional Director of Program Management for our Regional Headquarters in Troy, Michigan.

As a Regional Head of Programs, this position is the overall responsible for the program execution and for the performance of the program management team in the Region. Each Program Manager is the acting “small CEO” of the program. He is accountable for Program Products Profit and Loss and for the timely and quality execution of the program deliverables. The program responsibility begins at Order in House point and ends at the Hand Over to the plant targeted for SOP 90 Days.

As a Regional Head of Programs, this position is responsible to lead and to coach Program Managers assigned. The guidance will consist of the day-to-day program direction and issue resolution, and also for the consistent adherence of the Program Management Systems and Procedures in the Region. Disciplinary issues will still fall under the responsibility of the Director of Program Management.

Objectives of Regional Director of Program Management

  • Secure program profitability: Reach and Improve Program EBITDA Targets.
  • Flawless Program Launches: meeting customer milestones on a timely and quality manner
  • Tooling Optimization: securing timely tooling funds collections and tooling budget performance.
  • Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) optimization.
  • Adherence to Program Management Systems and Procedures and Integration of the NAFTA Team.
  • Responsible to achieve the Program objectives of the Program Managers assigned.

Responsibilities of Regional Director of Program Management

  • Integrate and manage the Program Master Plan.
  • Manage the Program team members and the program deliverables to the customer.
  • Manage customer Engineering and Quality interfaces during the program.
  • Maintain close communication with the program team.
  • Ensure program team adherence the company PDP System (Product Development Process).
  • Lead the program team and ensure a successful launch at production facilities.
  • Evaluate and present program risks with supporting information for Upper Management decision making.
  • Support customer engineering changes from Order in House through SOP 90 Days.
  • Manage Tooling budget and timely collection of funds with Finance.
  • Obtain final program approval from the Customer according to the Master Plan (PPAP, PSW, Note 1, etc).
  • Manage Product Development Budget and Launch Budget.
  • Coordinate all pre-production manufacturing activities.
  • Prepare monthly program status reports for Senior Management.
  • In conjunction with Management, Optimize Capital Expenditures of the Program.
  • Recover all other program related cost from customers during program phases.
  • Provide periodic updates the program team members and management.
  • Execute program Gate review according to PDP System.
  • Integrate and lead contingency plans when necessary.
  • Develop take over business cases.
  • May be required to travel, work overtime and lift heavy components.
  • Lead to the proper execution of the duties and responsibilities of the Junior Program Managers assigned.
  • Required to adhere to applicable TS16949 and ISO 14001.
  • Required to adhere to all health and safety requirements at the production plants.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements for the Regional Director of Program Management

  • Good customer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office – Power Point, Excel, MS Project.
  • SAP experience helpful.
  • APQP, DFMEA / PFMEA knowledge or experience.
  • GD&T knowledge or experience.
  • Minimum of 3 –5 years' experience preferably in automotive interior trim/acoustics.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in business or engineering or equivalent job experience.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent.
  • Work experience may be substituted for formal education.
