SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Some of our clients are physically impaired and require assistance into and out of wheelchairs and other assistive devices. The Direct Service Professional must be able to perform such tasks on an urgent or emergency basis. Many of the jobs/activities in which our clients engage require physical exertion on the part of the Adjoin staff person (i.e., walking (75% of workday), climbing stairs (10% workday but on a frequent basis), lifting (10% of workday but on a frequent basis), stretching, bending, etc.). A Direct Service professional must have the ability to talk, hear, and see in order to assist the client in his/her/their quest for independence.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with autism, hospice care, or other special needs
- Assist with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by following established protocols and resident rights
- Monitor and record vital signs as necessary
- Assist with mobility and lifting tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism, hospice care, or similar backgrounds is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and practices
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility in working various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
