Responsibilities:

• Assist mechanics and machine operators with line changeovers between packages.
• Check schedules for changeovers.
• Make needed repairs in a timely manner.
• Communicate needs (mechanical & procedural) of the line to the proper department or individual. Follow maintenance work order procedures and educate the operators.
• Communicate with opposite shift working foreman all problems encountered during the shift.
• Complete a daily log and e-mail to management and foreman.
• Communicate to Production supervisors on repair status of affected equipment.
• Assign work orders to mechanics and follow up that they are completed.
• Maintain Food Safety Plan Control Points (CPs) using specified control measures, including applicable Pre-requisite Programs, SOPs, PMs, etc.
• Promote cleanliness by ensuring that the machine and the work area is clean when repairs are complete and especially when passing operation/repair on to the next shift. No tools, spare parts or debris should be left at the work site, and all guards must be replaced.

Requirements:

• 10 year experience as a mechanic in a related manufacturing industry.
• Excellent electrical systems knowledge.
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Able to read and interpret schematics of all related systems.
• Able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Able to plan and execute large repair projects.
