Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

Product development Oversee the creative technical execution for Apparel / Footwear/ Accessories styles from seasonal kick-off through to commercialization / mass production (buy-ready) - in order to meet / exceed the aesthetic, quality, price and delivery needs of adidas and our Markets.

Style cost management Drive style engineering to meet commercial expectations / target prices / FOB

In-season responsiveness drive reaction to upcoming trends / new market insights w/in the season through rapid creation

Continuous improvement Lead and challenge the product creation teams to ensure that the source base, creation processes and culture are state-of-the art and support the evolving objectives of the business

Key Responsibilities

Product development / creative technical execution

Set and execute strategic development direction for product creation for area of responsibility.

Drive the development strategy by balancing, where appropriate, unique fashion calendar needs and global alignment

Ensure that product is finalized according to market needs in terms of timing, costing, product specification and product integrity (incl. proto quality)

Work closely with Sourcing to establish a seasonal development strategy

Style cost management

Monitor costing results at early & later stages in the creation cycle - together with T1 suppliers & Sourcing

Drive proposal of opportunities to Design and Marketing for where quality or cost could be improved without sacrificing product aesthetics (together with suppliers & Sourcing)

In-season responsiveness

Develop / evolve creation tracks to support in-season response

Drive execution of "reactive" creation processes in close collaboration with supplier and effective use of their in-house design and creation capabilities - in close collaboration with Design and Marketing

Continuous improvement

Structure/evolve the organization to ensure that the team keeps the highest emphasis on creating the best product (quality/cost), providing a high price/value relationship and ontime to market demand

Design, develop, and implement customized processes that support Partner Needs.

Continuously explore and implement new systems and technologies that make product development faster, more efficient and more effective while elevating product integrity

Drive strategic alignment with marketing and design to achieve shared business targets, in a committed and successful cross-functional team environment

Build up and develop the team (objective setting, assessments, training, development), foster productive cross-category cooperation within the greater department

Continuously monitor and evaluate team workload and organizational efficiency with the support of IT systems, data and analysis and team feedback and make appropriate changes in order to meet business needs.

Strong technical knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing methods of shoes

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

Undergraduate university degree

13 years progressive work experience in the Apparel/Footwear industry, specializing in Product Development, Sourcing and/or Materials or directly related field with appropriate management experience

Previous experience in product development in a partnerships/collaboration enviornment is required

7 years of Management experience of leading cross functional teams

The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is ($193,200 - $265,000). Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, and proficiency for the role.

We officially returned to office in a hybrid work environment, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The working location of this position is Los Angeles, CA.

Though our teammates hail from all corners of the world, our working language is English.
