JOB SUMMARY:
The Coordinator serves the basic function of building relationships between the campus, surrounding community and potential sponsors with all teams in the Athletic Department. They will serve to engage each of those areas, while promoting the student-athletes and programs of Adelphi Athletics. The Coordinator also organizes athletic department special events including Midnight Madness, The Ficke Panther Golf Classic, Black History Month, The Hall of Fame Dinner, varsity sport alumni days, special recognition team reunions and assists with other various events within the department. This position works with various constituents on campus including Residence Life, Center for Student and Community Engagement, and student government for on-campus marketing as well as the University Advancement Office and Finance Office for the organization, planning and reconciliation of athletic department special events.
REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Athletics, External Relations and SWA
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Serve as department liaison to the campus community to promote games and other events to the student body.
Build relationships with the local community to solicit ticket sales for basketball among other varied sporting events.
Manage in-game promotions including sponsorship obligations, game day scripts and music, and halftime and time-out promotions.
Organize athletic department special events including Midnight Madness, Black History Month Dinner, Hall of Fame Dinner, Ficke Panther Golf Classic and other team special events (recognitions/anniversaries).
Coordinate with the University Finance Office and Advancement on all special events reconciliations.
Assist teams with annual alumni events with the help of Associate AD for External Relations, soliciting assistance from on campus partners- ADVEX.
Complies with policies and procedures set forth by Adelphi University, the Northeast 10 Conference, and the NCAA.
Responsible for knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. If found responsible for a violation of NCAA regulations, will be subject to disciplinary or corrective action, including termination if appropriate. Also may be responsible for any act or omission that may give rise to a finding that the University has violated an NCAA regulation.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or Associate AD for External Relations.
Position requires working weekends and some holidays.

Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
Ability to work nights and weekends.
Knowledge of fundraising events.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Email.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience running events in an athletics environment is preferred.
